Parking Authority DOUBLES Rates

Well I had a fun time the other night.  I get down to my girlfriend's place on Lombard.  Since it is around 8 o'clock on a weekend night, parking is scarce on Lombard.  ON A SIDE NOTE they have recently converted all the meters on South Street into those nice efficient Parking Kiosks that you put money in and get a ticket for your dash.  The ticket says the exact time you time expires.  I like it.  It frees up the whole block with free for all parking....and the street looks more open without the meters.

So on this dreaded night I find plenty of parking on south, I go over to the kiosk, I throw in my two bucks to be good for the night.  But suddenly I look down at the kiosk screen and I only got one hour.  Overnight the meter rates DOUBLED!  COME ON....2 dollars for 1 hour.....a quarter gets you 7.5 minutes.  Its just nuts.  I will be doing my best to avoid all meter parking from now on...no matter the walk.
